Volleyball - Week of 9/8-9/12

September 12, 2008
By Rick Waller of Sullivan East High School

The Sullivan East Lady Patriot volleyball team had two matches this week, one on the road at Daniel Boone on Tuesday and one at home against Dobyns Bennett on Thursday. The road proved to be much kinder than at home as they swept the Lady Trailblazers at Boone while getting swept themselves by the Lady Indians at home.

Kelsey Trivett and Rachel Hodge led the way for the Lady Patriots as they beat Daniel Boone by scores of 25-17, 25-10, and 25-23 giving them their second conference win of the year.

The Lady Indians proved to be as good as their preseason number one pick to win the conference as they came to Sullivan East and won in three games, 25-19, 25-9, and 25-19. Katie Harris led East in with 11 digs and 5 kills and Kelsey Trivett contributed with solid play throughout the course of the match.

The loss dropped the Lady Patriots to 2-5 in the Big 9 Conference and 4-7 overall.
